- Options Menu
-
- Draw x axis/Hide x axis:
- Toggle drawing and hiding the x axis on the bottom or top of the map. Double-clicking
- on the axis allows the resetting of axis options. Axis options can be set as follows:
- Label details : Ñ Axis label and font details.
- Tick marks : Ñ Axis tick marks : Specify the number of major and minor tick marks
- and where they should appear - either on both sides of the map or just
- on one side, and either on the outside or the inside of the map frame.
- Alternatively, select the tick mark increment and the number of
- minor tick marks - this will determine the number of major ticks.
- Tick labels : Ñ Axis tick mark labels : Specify font details and number format of tick
- labels and where they should appear - either on top or bottom of the
- map frame.
-
- Draw y axis/Hide y axis:
- Toggle drawing and hiding the y axis to the left or right of the map. Double-clicking
- on the axis allows the resetting of axis options. See above for setting options.
-
- General map settings:
- Set map foreground and background colours and line thickness.
-
- Draw grid/Hide grid:
- Toggle drawing and hiding a dashed line plot of the data grid.
-
- Draw frame/Hide frame:
- Toggle drawing and hiding a frame around the map.
-
- Draw data markers:
- Plot markers at the data points. Select a character from any font, style, colour and size.
- Data values can also be plotted using selected font detail, these will appear immediately
- to the right of the chosen marker. Marking can be confined to only those values selected
- in the data window.
-
- Draw line segments:
- Draw an arbitrary line segment with optional clipping inside and/or outside of closed
- segments. The line segments are read from free format text files of x y pairs in the same
- units as the contour map data. More than one line segment can be read from one file by
- signalling the end of a line segment by two identical points in succession. For example:
-
- 2 5
- 4 6
- 1 7
- 2 5
- 2 5
- 4 5
- 4 6
- 2 5
- 4 5
-
- this would draw two small triangles in the same units as the example data set in the
- open file help text.
-
- Remove line segments:
- Remove a previously drawn line segment.
-
- Draw label:
- Draw an arbitrary text label with control over position, font, size, style and colour.
- The label once drawn can be dragged to its desired position. Double-clicking on an
- already drawn label allows the changing of previously set options.
-
- Remove label:
- Remove a previously drawn label.
-
- Add Pict:
- Add an arbitrary PICT to the map. The PICT once drawn can be dragged to its desired
- position but cannot be resized - therefore scale the PICT correctly before including
- it.
-
- Remove Pict:
- Remove a previously drawn PICT, including those pasted from the clipboard.
